From: Anna and Alan Sun - Update Dear friends and supporters, Quick Update: 25 students study the gospel of Mark. Jeremy's process of knowing Jesus. Anna and Alan in theological study. Full Update: It has been about two weeks since our Spring Mark Camp and we have seen students both flourish and struggle in their faith. In reminding students that their faith is a responsibility not just a "mountain top experience" we have made accountability a priority for all our students that attended even post-Mark Camp. We taught 25 students and have seen the momentum the students carried from camp to campus. One student in particular from Mesa College needs to be highlighted. Jeremy is a non-Christian student at Mesa College and Mark Camp was his first in-depth study of Jesus. He was nervous at first, saying, "I don't know what to expect" and "I know God but not Jesus". After Mark Camp, we asked Jeremy to describe his experience of studying Scripture for 8 hours/day and if it changed him at all. This is his response word for word: "This whole experience was life changing. Almost like I am a trained soldier of a follower of Jesus. At first I was overwhelmed with all the new knowledge and now I am happy at how much was thrown at me for I can take what I learned back pass the bottom of the hill. The people around here are very open and cool and I have learned alot as well by them. At first I thought 'Everybody only talks about Jesus and it's all they speak about.' I've realized it's the best conversation now. People in class are talking about coming next year to Mark 2 and I am excited to continue this experience and see people again...and meet new ones. God is good"-Jeremy Lives are being changed on both City and Mesa campuses. With your prayers, emails, and conversations we see and experience the goodness of Christ in our lives. And Jeremy's story is not just ours but celebrated with you all too. On another note both of us are pursuing more theological study this summer through classes hosted by InterVarsity, and Alan will be continuing seminary coursework part-time. Please pray: - for Jeremy: though he had an amazing encounter with Jesus at Mark Camp, he still has not fully given his life to the Lord. Pray for deepened faith and understanding of a life-long relationship with Jesus. - for City College's last Oasis event tomorrow night: we are doing it in a very public place (the cafeteria) and we're having a gospel choir for the first time! Please pray for new students and God to do a powerful work through Oasis. Thanks again for all your prayers and support. If there is anything we could pray for you about, please let us know.
